Now the NFL is called by many the “No Fun League” as it at times finds new reason to fine those play football in NFL jerseys. The latest reason it found to collect money from players is using a different strip of eye black from what is called the “standard” strip. Truly, the Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson was just fined $5,000 for the very reason.
Jackson painted “DIII” under his eyes during last Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and got to know that he would have to pay $5,000 for that Wednesday. Complaining about the fine after Wednesday practice, Jackson said he was surprised by the punishment because he’s been wearing “DIII”—which stands for his Division III college football background—since the Coe College product first broke into the league with Buffalo in 2007.
And he had previously never received any kind of warnings on using non-standard strip from the league, who declined to comment, neither explained what rule the running back violated, but said all player fines will be confirmed on Friday.
