Entering the season at age of 32, the Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams became one of the only seven running backs in NFL history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season after Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Williams reached 1,000 yards rushing for this season on his fifth carry Sunday against Tennessee, setting an NFL record for the longest span between 1,000-yard seasons at six years, with his last 1,000-yard season coming in 2003 when he got to 1,000 yards on a 15-yard carry.
Thus this season also becomes his fifth 1,000-yard rushing season since he put on NFL jersey as a professional football player.
