Rams RB Jackson is not to be charged

The St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson will not be charged of domestic violence as investigators did not find sufficient evidence to prove that Jackson beat a girlfriend who was nine months pregnant with the couple’s child at his Las Vegas home last year.

According to allegations, 26-year-old Jackson attacked Supriya Harris of Mableton, Ga., in March 2009. Investigators said that the investigation had been over and the case would be closed as there was insufficient evidence to go forward with the case.

The running back wearing No. 39 Rams jerseys issued a statement one day after Harris filed a complaint alleging that the two-time Pro Bowl running back repeatedly pushed her to the ground and “flung” her against a door before his nephew intervened. In the statement, he called the accusation “untrue” and “hurtful.”
