The late Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams had no chance to tell who murdered him, but there has been a suspect, who will have a chance to argue in the case to convince people he was innocent.
The suspect named Willie Clark is charged with first-degree murder but insists that he is innocent and opening arguments are set for him on trial for the drive-by shooting death of Williams. The incident happened on New Year’s Day 2007, and Williams got fatal shots in his limousine from a man in an SUV.
A very important reason for Clark to be accused of committing the murder was that he was among the group that got into an altercation at a Denver nightclub with a group of NFL players wearing Broncos jerseys that include Williams.
There have been also reports that Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who was also in the group of Broncos players, wants to leave Denver because of what happened to Williams.
