According to reports by the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Texans will keep Coach Gary Kubiak by giving him a contract extension next week. And the Texans believe keeping Kubiak with them is necessary to get chance into postseason in following season.
Kubiak has spent four years with the players in Texans jerseys and there is only one year left in his five-year contract with the team. As Bob McNair doesn’t want the coach going into the season with lame-duck status, he is reportedly to sign a contract extension with Kubiak, keeping him through at least the 2013 season.
Under Kubiak’s coaching, the Texans finished the 2009 season with nine wins and seven losses along with a chance to make the playoffs. And Kubiak is the first coach who has even led the Texans to so close ever to making the postseason.
